“Home wasn't a set house, or a single town on a map. It was wherever the people who loved you were, whenever you were together. Not a place, but a moment, and then another, building on each other like bricks to create a solid shelter that you take with you for your entire life, wherever you may go.” ― Sarah Dessen, What Happened to GoodbyeThere is something about London that kind of draws you in. I don't know if it is the mix of old and the new, the symbiosis of it, the sweet rush of an aristocratic mixed with the bold original or if we all simply spend way too much time in school discussing Big Ben in our English classes. For the first time i felt like home while traveling. You know, when you go through the same motions you used to go through back at home? It's a weird feeling. Being so comfortable in a completely new place. It feels like deja vu, being reminded of something so nostalgically familiar. So i guess it's right what people say - home is after all - always in your mind and forever you in your heart. With you.
Near Baker Street Underground Station
In the short 4 days that i stayed there i didn't manage to do everything what my heart desired. Part of my inner-nerd won the battle and i spent way too much time in museums (especially London Museum) and touristy attractions (Madame Tusseauds, London Eye, National Gallery). Walking the railway stations - Liverpool and the King's Cross Pancras. The best part was the city <3 London just makes you leave all your maps at home and all your plans for being a presentable tourist and lets you walk around for hours without the slightest fear of getting lost. For the first time in my entire life while travelling i managed not to get lost anywhere ;)
What makes you love London - is the architecture. There was not a second that i wasn't wishing Nene was there with me so we can shoot some stuff ;D
What would be a trip to London without visiting all the Harry Potter Locations? :D
And Madame Tussauds?
When it comes to posts like these - my heart flutters and is so thankful i took up photography as a hobby and not tennis or sth :D
It seems i have a new dream now ;)
